Prather, who was born blind, began taking photographs after a cataract operation allowed her to begin seeing texture for the first time. She uses both the camera and the computer to explore the many forms present in Nature. Both her abstract art and her photography explore classic forms in Nature. Her subjects include plants, landscapes, and fractals that follow natural forms.
