Small Works Show
Gallery North proudly presents the annual Small Works Show, a juried invitational that transforms the small into something spectacular. From March 1st through March 30th, immerse yourself in a captivating exhibition that defies the limits of size, featuring 135 meticulously curated pieces, each no larger than 154 square inches.
This year’s show brings together the talents of 70 distinguished artists from across the nation, each contributing their unique voice to this compact collection of creativity. From intricate details to powerful compositions, these small works offer a window into the vast world of artistic expression.
Highlighting this exceptional event, an exclusive reception and awards ceremony will take place on March 8th from 1 PM to 4 PM. This is your opportunity to meet some of the artists and celebrate the standout pieces that capture the jurors’ attention.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. On March 20th, from 5 PM to 8 PM, embrace the vibrant energy of the Third Thursday Art Walk. Enjoy an evening strolling through Downtown Edmonds as you explore inspiring art while engaging in conversations with fellow art enthusiasts.

Gallery North, in operation since 1961, continues its mission to promote established and emerging artists in beautiful downtown Edmonds. This is an event not to be missed!
AWARDS JUROR
Scott Anstett
Scott is a local artist living and working in Edmonds, Washington. He has a wide interest in subjects and creates portraits, figurative works, landscapes, still life paintings, and the occasional abstract. He received his formal arts training at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia in the early 2000’s. His figurative works are influenced by such artists as Mark Tennant and Malcolm Liepke and strives to capture unscripted, spontaneous moments in life.
Scott debuted on the art scene here in the PNW with his large-scale oil-portraits at various galleries, salons, cafe’s and other venues in the Seattle area. He and his wife moved from Seattle to Shanghai in 2015, where he began working smaller in scale and experimenting with different substrates, color palettes, and ground colors. After four years in China, Scott and his wife moved to Cape Town, South Africa where the natural beauty heightened Scott’s interest in landscape painting and expanded his use of color.
Scott attempts to reflect the experiences of his travels in all of his art creation, and to convey a joyful and optimistic outlook that mirrors his personal philosophy and deep interest in this world we live in.
