Leah Rene Welch
Between Tides & Trees
Gallery North is thrilled to feature Leah Rene Welch in Between Tides and Trees, a month-long exhibition celebrating the beauty, character, and quiet moments found in the Pacific Northwest landscape.
Located just a few blocks from the beach in downtown Edmonds, Gallery North provides a fitting setting for this collection of paintings. The exhibit features primarily landscapes and seascapes, along with a selection of animal paintings. Together, the works explore the varied beauty of the natural world—from the movement and changing moods of the water to the enduring presence of forests and the wildlife that inhabits them.
Visitors will have two opportunities to meet the artist during the exhibition. Leah will be at Gallery North for the opening reception on Saturday, September 5, from 1–4 p.m. The artist will also return for Edmonds Third Thursday Artwalk, September 17, from 5–8 p.m.
In addition to the exhibition, visitors will have an opportunity to support arts education in the Edmonds community through a month-long silent auction of one of the artist’s paintings. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Gallery North Art Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship to a high school student in the Edmonds School District.
“I’m excited to share Between Tides and Trees with the Edmonds community,” said Welch. “This collection is inspired by the places that invite us to slow down, look closely, and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. I’m especially pleased that one of the paintings will help support the next generation of artists through the Gallery North Art Scholarship Fund.”
Between Tides and Trees will be on view at Gallery North throughout the month of September. Art lovers, collectors, local residents, and visitors are invited to experience the exhibition and participate in the scholarship fundraiser.
